13 miles Medium-Long in 1:43:49 (7:59/mi, avg HR 158).

Despite dire predictions of additional snow, temps around 40 managed to melt most of the snow and slush on the road and I was back to running in the rain. Felt tired this morning; a bit zonked by my cold that's lingering. Felt uncoordinated and clompy during the run, but managed to keep effort medium and trudge through. Left bunion bugging me after 11 miles, so perhaps a revisit to the podiatrist is called for, although not sure what else he can do. Already starting to wonder about Thursday's Steady State.

Brooks Adrenaline (Blue) - 414.5 miles.

Running in the rain? I don't know how I am going to manage that hassle when the day comes. I hate walking in wet shoes and socks.

I guess that's what separates hardcores from weak wobblers.

Running in the rain doesn't bother me as much as running IN snow, not falling snow, but snow/slush on the ground! Got to make sure the socks are good for wet running though, I about lost a heal once in the rain from my sock slipping down and my heal rubbing my shoe on EVERY stride!

Dale, doing some Googling I see that you are keeping track of your shoe millage in each post, any reason other than indicator for replacement time?

From Dale on Wed, Jan 09, 2008 at 11:14:11

Nope, that's the reason. I keep track so I can retire them at around the 500 mile mark, and keep an eye on them once they hit 300 miles for any excessive wear and tear.

The snow/slush/ice thing is bad because of the slippage factor. I'm getting used to being wet when I run, although I can't say that I like it much. The next worst has to be rain + wind + cold temps.
